Benicassim or Benicasim however you wish to spell it is a Castellon locality with a population of 20,000 inhabitants whose economy is mainly brought in by the growing tourism. Beaches, mountains, nature culture and a great offer of hotels, apartments, hostels, villas, houses etc...all at the palm of your hands waiting for you to enjoy the Mediterrenean waters of this beautiful coast of eastern Spain.

Benicassim is a locality in the province of Castellon in the Azahar Coast in Spain. It borders with Tarragona to it's north, Teruel to the west, and Valencia and the Mediterrenean to it's east. It belongs to a beautiful coas, that is well know for it's hidden corners like Sierra de Palma.

From a tourist point of view, next to the Costa Azahar you'll find Castellon de la Plana, Oropesa del mar, Torreblanca and Peniscola amongst many others.

The origins of Benicassim we must say are the first documents from the foundation of this small villa dating back to 1603, and it's arabic origin of it's name means "sons of Cassim".

On the other hand, geographically, Benicassim is divided in 3 areas. The historic center, the area of the villas in the Palmas desert, being the second most important tourist area in Castellon, and the area where all of the hotels, restaurants, campings, disco's, hostels and pubs are located.

Benicassim is a municipality that blends the mountains and the sea together giving the opportunity to enjoy both aspects of this beautiful natural surrounding. The coastline of Benicassim has 6 kilometers of beaches made up of fine sand and are equipped with services for those of you that want to take a dip in the sea. Many people practice scubadiving, windsurfing or sailing.
