Benicassim and it´s surroundings possess various protected natural spaces in areas that you should not fail to see while on holiday in Valencia in the eastern coast of Spain. We start our tour through the natural parks of Benicassim in the Las Palmas Desert, a natural park located in the interior of the municipality that holds in it´s interior diverse species of flora and fauna typical from this region. Valleys, cliffs, mountainous ranges...coastline, rock mountains, and desert areas are all found in this area. The peak of San Bartolo measures 730 meters in height. It is the highest point of the desert that measures 3500 acres and was declared Desert by the Valencia Community in 1989. From the peak of San Bartolo on a clear day, you can see the Columbretes islands.

There are many different species of flora and fauna found here that are very interesting. For those of you who are nature lovers, there isn´t another place that offer so much to do.

Other spaces with a great ecological value in Benicassim are it´s beaches and urban center.

The surroundings of Benicassim and the Natural Prat Park in the municipality of Torreblanca as well as the Sierra de Irta and the numerous marshlands in localities like Burriana, Nules or Castellon which are a center for nesting and of daily life to many aquatic species.
